In 1980, it enrolled undergraduates majoring in statistics.

In1987 ,the department of statistics was established.

In 1990, it was granted the right to confer master's degree in statistics.

In 2001, the school of statistics and computing science was established ,adding information and computing science majors.

In 2003, it was granted the right to confer the doctor's degree in statistics.

In 2004, the department of mathematics and applied mathematics was added.

In 2005, it was granted the right to confer master's degree in national economics.

In 2006,the school of statistics and mathematics was renamed.

In 2011, it was granted the right to confer the doctoral degree of first-level discipline statistics.

In 2012, it was awarded the postdoctoral research station of statistics and the master's degree of second-level discipline of computational science.
